My name is Ashley Joiner and I have over 10 years of experience in the field of Graphic Design and the commercial printing industry. I attended the Art Institute of York Pennsylvania and graduated in December of 2005 with an Associates Degree in Specialized Technology with a Major in Graphic Design.

In January of 2006 just 18 days after graduation I started my first design position with Herff Jones Inc. at their Gettysburg PA Yearbook Division as an entry level Graphic Designer. During my time at Herff I quickly gained the respect of my colleagues and grew as a designer. My job was to efficiently and effectively design and build press ready yearbook covers and endsheets. Additionally, our department was responsible for all other "art" projects related to yearbook which included interior layout designs, theme graphic creation, photo edits ect. My position required an extensive knowledge in print separations and specialty printing processes which I learned during my time working for Herff Jones. I also was one of the main traveling artists which required me to travel with our sales representatives and their customers to design cover and endsheets on the fly. I traveled with representatives in PA, NJ, MD, DE, NY, GA, ME, MA, NC, VA & RI.

In June 2014 I resigned from Herff Jones to be a stay at home mother and pursue a freelance design business. Sadly, a few months later the Gettysburg PA plant closed their doors. I continue to work closely with some of the same representatives I worked with during my time at Herff Jones as well as new clients.

I have a passion for yearbooks and the nostalgia surrounding them! Those in the field of yearbook design would call me a "yerd" or for those who have no clue what that means a "yearbook nerd"! I love a challenge so complicated PhotoShop edits and unusual graphic creations peak my interest as well! I guess you could say that any creative endeavor you ask me to take on gets me excited!
